I have a meeting today and yesterday.
Yesterday meeting: I initiated the meeting. I began the meeting to understand the goal for this meeting. I have written all the points and findings in a paper. When the meeting start, I was just reading from the paper. I am not too sure if it make sense to the listener. I am NOT telling a story.
Today status meeting, I told myself I need elaborate one of the things I need to mention. However, I did not follow through what I plan to do. I have read your meeting management before I attend.
I just have to work harder the next time. I did not do well on both times.
B, thanks for commenting. Taking any action is 50% of the battle. The fact you are planning and starting to practice are great first steps. No one is perfect on their first try. Keep it going. As for speaking up in a meeting, it is definitely better to speak to your audience vs. reading from a piece of paper. You already know that. Just imagine it is like a conversation you are having with a friend.
