Leadership, Influence, and Selling Skills

“A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.” Nelson Mandela

Leadership can happen in every level of the organization.  You don’t have to be designated a leader to develop leadership skills.  Leadership is about your ability to initiate, motivate, and influence a group of individuals to achieve something bigger than what you can do alone.    This is why your abilities to influence others and sell your ideas to others to gain support and following are closely tied to leadership.
